Independent research shows that the added control available through using absence detection can provide an additional 10% energy saving over and above the significant savings already offered by presence detection.

Combining lighting management sensors with traditional light switches puts users in complete control. Lights can be manually switched on and off or, if users forget to switch off lights, the sensors will do so automatically. Furthermore, when there is strong light in the room, the sensor will automatically switch off the lights to save energy (although lights can still be switched on if preferred).
