One of our largest projects to date, and of course one which we are proud to showcase, is the Tipico Tower located adjacent to the Portomaso Tower in St. Julians. This tower consists of 11 floors, each with an approximate area of 500m2. The tower will be used by gaming giant Tipico as their local headquarters.
Our brief was to commission an electrical system that was flexible enough to easily permit the reconfiguration of office layouts that is often required in such a dynamic industry. The Electrak powertrack, or underfloor busbar, is the perfect solution for supplying underfloor power in cavity floor installations. Electrak’s underfloor power distribution system consist of continuous lengths of power track which are fed from the distribution board via busbar feed boxes and can be installed in a raised floor clearance height of 48 mm. The system provided ultimate flexibility in this ever-changing gaming environment, was quick and easy to install, provided maximum design freedom and saved the contractors time and money.
For this project we also implemented an energy control system in which the lights of the building are controlled automatically using presence detection sensors according to lux levels and preset scenes. When an office worker enters the relevant detection zone, lights turn on automatically and when no presence is detected, lights turn off automatically. This, combined with lux level sensing, daylight harvesting and preset scenes, enabled us to provide a solution that meets the most demanding lighting control and energy management applications, without the cost and complexity of other systems.
As the only local Somfy Expert representative, we were also commissioned to implement the networked Somfy motorised roller blinds for complete control and synchronisation of all the 260 blinds. All blinds were manufactured locally by Future Habitats and the client has control of all the blinds from the building management system implemented.
The Tipico project is due to be completed in March 2020 and we wish the Tipico team all the success they deserve.
